Lead your people from the Stone Age to the age of gunpowder.
How to play
Goal: destroy every rival town (walls, farms and gates don't count), or build a Wonder and keep it standing until its countdown ends.
Select with a left click, or drag a box around units. Shift adds to the selection; double-click picks every unit of that kind on screen.
Command with a right click: on the ground to move, on an enemy to attack, on trees, berries, stone or gold to gather, on a deer to hunt it, on your building site to help build, on a farm to work it, on a Town Center or tower to shelter inside. Hold Shift to queue orders one after another.
Citizens gather food, wood, stone and gold and carry it to your Town Center or a Storehouse. With citizens selected, B opens the town buildings and V the military ones. Drag to lay out a wall.
Technologies at the Town Center, Storehouse, Forge and others make your people faster and your soldiers stronger. Priests heal and convert enemies, and carry the relics found about the map to a Temple, where they bring in gold; a hero inspires the soldiers near them. The Market trades goods for gold, and trains traders: right-click a trading post out on the map and they bring back gold each trip, more the farther the Market stands from it.
Danger? Ring the town bell at the Town Center (R): citizens run inside and the Town Center shoots more arrows.
Houses make room for 5 more people. Farms never run out once the berries do.
The triangle: infantry beat cavalry, archers beat infantry, cavalry beat archers and siege. Siege engines smash buildings. Mix your army; set stances with ZXC.
Epochs: at the Town Center, advance from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age, the Middle Ages, the Gunpowder Age and the Industrial Age. Every unit re-arms and every building is rebuilt in the new style.
Ships: a citizen builds a Dock on the shore (D in the town buildings). Fishing boats catch fish from the shoals and bring it back; warships rule the water and shell the coast. Right-click your transport with soldiers selected to board, then right-click a far shore to land them (U unloads where it is).
Aircraft: in the Industrial Age an Airfield trains fighters and bombers. They fly over water, woods and walls. Only missiles reach them: fighters, archers to riflemen, towers and warships.
Camera: arrow keys, the screen edges, middle-drag or Space+drag to pan; the wheel zooms; [ and ] turn the view and Backspace straightens it. Click the minimap to jump.
